1 jaguar attacked, killed by one other jaguar at Jacksonville Zoo

Zenta, the 21-year-old Jaguar woman from Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, was attacked and killed over the weekend by a 12-year-old Jaguar man named Harry.

Zoo officials said the attack took place in a holding complex and staff could not separate the two big cats before Zenta was killed.

They call death a “terrible accident” and say that an investigation is ongoing so that this never happens again.

Zenta came to Jacksonville in 2006 after being rescued from a private zoo.

Harry was born at Jax Zoo in 2009.
