The Jacksonville Jaguars have to decide what to do with their own.
The Jacksonville Jaguars found the head coach they wanted in Urban Meyer. That was just the first point they needed to check off a long off-season list, however. After filling the coaching staff and appointing a general manager, the team has to make some decisions about the free hand.
This Jacksonville team projected a cap space of $ 73.36 million, allowing them to be aggressive and make significant additions this off-season. However, before going on a shopping spree, they will need to re-sign some of their own players and some decisions may be more difficult to make than others.
Currently, 18 jaguars are slated to become unrestricted free agents and some may not be worth bringing back, while others are. To make matters worse, some of these players may not be in the top tier of their position, but may have some intangible value off the field.
The “Jags” have to set a budget and decide how much to invest in their free agents. Most of them will want market compensation, and they rightly have a limited window of time to maximize their income and they must take advantage of that. On the other hand, in Jacksonville, it may be better to let some of these players run in the free hand. Here are five to keep.
