JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The FBI Evidence Response Team is responsible for finding and holding evidence.
Lauren Regucci is the lead agent on the Jacksonville team. She directed high profile local cases like the search for Susan Mauldin in a Georgia landfill and was involved in the investigation into the Pulse Night Club shooting.
Forty-nine people were murdered in the Orlando nightclub and it became a massive investigation by multiple authorities.

“I think most of the people on my team would say it was one of the worst scenes we’ve ever seen because so many people were killed,” said Regucci.
Regucci said most of Jacksonville’s role was to investigate the exterior of the club scene.
“There were shell shells in the grass and there was shell casting everywhere on the surrounding property.” Said Regucci.
The team is currently undergoing training, including how to use the old PGA Tour building, which recently exploded with debris, so agents can find evidence.

Regucci said training like this is important so agents can learn how to collect and store evidence in tatters in preparation for real-life collection.
Regucci has been with the FBI for nearly 20 years, starting out in the New York office.
Her advice to anyone considering joining the FBI is to take the first step and take a risk.
