Florida’s rainy season is just around the corner – the rainy season extends from May to October each year. Although Florida is the Sunshine State, many Floridians have grown used to having frequent afternoon showers but are still wondering what to do on those rainy days.
If you’re looking to get out of the house, here are some great Jacksonville indoor spots to enjoy on a gloomy, wet day or night.
Visit a museum – Jacksonville is home to several museums including this Science and History Museum (MOSH), Contemporary Art Museum (MOCA) and The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. Note: bring an umbrella if you want to explore the gardens of the Cummer Museum.
Go to a brewery – Check out some local breweries and try some delicious beers. Some of the most popular breweries in Jacksonville are Bold City Brewery, Intuition Ale Works, Legacy Ale Works, Aardwolf Brewing Company, Veterans United Brewing, River City Brewing, and Wicked Barley Brewing.
Make an escape room – Bring your friends and family together and find your way out of a locked room by putting together clues in the room. Escape rooms can be located in a variety of locations in Jacksonville, some of which include A way out, The escape game, The great escape room, and Mind Benders Escape Rooms.
Play a few games in an arcade – – Dave & Busters, Main event, hobby room, and Video game rescue are all great local gambling halls. Note: There is also bowling at the main event!
Enjoy dinner and a show at the Alhambra Theater – – The Alhambra Theater is a dinner theater that offers its guests a unique and entertaining entertainment experience – a three-course menu and an unforgettable show.

Hit a few balls at Topgolf – You don’t have to be good at golf to have a good time Top golf. Topgolf also has pool tables, drinks and delicious food. Topgolf is partly outdoors, but the guests are completely covered and stay dry even when it rains.
Try ax throwing – Hitting a target with an ax sounds easy, but it is sure to give you an adrenaline rush. There are three ax throwing centers in Jacksonville: Throw highway ax, Great ax throwing, and Ax throwing with flying falcons II.
Take a painting class – At the Painting with a twist, drink wine and paint a work of art while following the studio artists’ step-by-step instructions. Note: you don’t have to be good at painting to do this!
Jump around at Rebounderz – A huge indoor trampoline… Do I have to say more? Rebound ore also has laser tag, an arcade, and virtual reality games.
