JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (NBC) – Debra Crosby is still trying to find the right statements after meeting the man who was a mystery to her until Wednesday.
“I just wanted you to know how amazing Johnny is,” she said with a smile.
Crosby lost her wallet at a Walmart in Jacksonville, Florida over the weekend. A man who later identified himself as Johnny found it in the parking lot and drove to their home in Yulee to have it hand delivered.
Crosby’s ring camera recorded his good deed.
“So it probably took him 45 minutes to an hour longer to do all of that,” explained Crosby.
Johnny’s friends saw him in a story on NBC subsidiary WTLV Monday and asked him to call Crosby. She was in Yulee Middle School at the time.
“I answer and hear this guy say, ‘Hello Ms. Crosby? It’s me. The guy with your wallet. ‘I said,’ Oh my god. I was really starting to think you were an angel and you flew away because no one told us who you were, ”said Crosby.
Johnny declined to be interviewed, but from a lost wallet to a newfound friendship, Crosby is forever grateful.
“You, Johnny, just gave me the reassurance and souls of the people,” she said.
