Jacksonville Meals Truck Catullo opens stationary restaurant – Enterprise – The Florida Instances-Union

Carl Catullo and his brother Dave have been parking their food truck, Catullos Italian, in Jacksonville for almost two years.

Now the duo are preparing to serve their Italian specialties at a stationary location on San Pablo Road S. 1650 on the border with Neptune Beach.

“Before we opened the food truck, we thought about switching between a truck or a restaurant and ended up thinking the truck would be cheaper than opening a restaurant, but we were a bit out of the way,” said Catullo. “We don’t regret our decision one bit as the food truck gave us access to all of Jacksonville and allowed us to build customers for the restaurant across town without thinking about it.”

He added, “The food truck has got us this far, but we want to go further.”

Catullo has been in the food industry for nearly 20 years, most recently at Lynch’s Irish Pub in Jacksonville Beach, where he still works as a night manager and bartender. Dave was the former bar manager at the Flying Iguana Taqueria & Tequila Bar in Neptune Beach.

The 1,400 square meter area will have almost 40 seats and a further 10 bar seats.

Guests can enjoy Catullo’s # 1 Italian seller, Creamy Chicken Pesto, as well as classics like pizza and lasagna.

Catullo said the stationary location would allow the brothers to offer more to their guests.

“We’ll be able to make more seafood like clams, clams and groupers while still focusing on fresh pasta,” he said. “We’ll also sell beer and wine.”

Catullo expects the restaurant to be open at the end of the year.

Catullos Italian is open for dinner Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 11pm and is closed on Sundays.
