Jacksonville Restaurant Owners Bring 3 New Restaurants and a Market Place to Downtown Jacksonville – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Downtown Jacksonville continues to grow with the addition of three new restaurants and a marketplace to the VyStar headquarters just across from the landing pad.

With a snippet of tape it became official. Those who come to downtown Jacksonville have even more shopping and dining.

The Bread & Board’s local business owners Jonathan Cobbs and Dwayne Beliakoff are a dynamic duo. They see their project, which was in the making for two years, finally come to life.

“Jacksonville is really becoming a food mecca, a food destination,” said Beliakoff.

They’re adding a third Bread & Board downtown, along with the Commission Marketplace, which will be a local farmers market, bakery, and shop, along with two new restaurants – Bread & Burger and Estrella Cocina. The two partner with VyStar, which was instrumental in bringing downtown Jax to life.

“The downtown revitalization, it’s very exciting to actually be a part of it,” said Cobbs.

They want to support Jacksonville’s economic growth after a particularly difficult year with the pandemic.

“Beliakoff came out of the fog of the last year and a half,” said Beliakoff. “We’re making our debut at a really good time, everyone wants to get out.”

Above all, Cobbs and Beliakoff say that the new spots are about showcasing Jacksonville and sharing its charm with visitors and locals alike.

“We hope you feel part of our family when you walk around town. You get a taste of some of Jacksonville too,” Cobbs said.

Bread & Burger and Estrella Cocina were officially opened to the public after the ceremony on Thursday.

Bread & Burger serves burgers and drinks in the breeze on the VyStar campus.

There are approximately 231 seats in the breeze and the opening times are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bread & Burger is open for special events on weekends. The owners say if they see more demand they will extend the opening hours.

Estrella Cocina will take reservations from Friday. It will be open from 4pm to 11pm, and over the weekend the owners will see staff and guest traffic levels before making any changes.

The Bread & Board is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The marketplace for bread and board regulations will be opened to the public in June.
