Jacksonville woman killed, child seriously injured after crash on I-10 – newsfeeds

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – A Jacksonville woman is dead and a young child is injured after an accident on I-10 early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Soldiers say just before 1:30 a.m., a black car was traveling north on I-295 exit to I-10 East when it pulled into the median, hit a concrete post, and stopped in the middle east lane came I-10.

A beige car traveling east on I-10 ran into the black car, causing “serious damage” to both cars, FHP said.

The driver of the black car, a 37-year-old Jacksonville woman, was killed in the accident. According to the authorities, the seven-year-old passenger in the car was seriously injured.

The other driver, a 34-year-old Jacksonville man, was also seriously injured. Police say he was buckled up.

It is not known whether the woman and child were wearing seat belts.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at least one person was killed in an accident on I-10 in an easterly direction early Thursday morning.

All eastbound lanes on I-10 off Lane Avenue on I-295 have been closed, but have since reopened, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said shortly after 7 a.m.
