Lady in motorized wheelchair robs downtown Jacksonville Financial institution

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A bank located just blocks from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office headquarters was robbed Monday by a woman in a motorized wheelchair.

The bank robbery was reported around noon at the Regions Bank branch on Bay Street near Laura Street.

Police said the woman showed up to discuss an account, but she got into an argument with a cashier that escalated when she threatened to kill everyone in the bank and announced she was going to rob the place, so that Sheriff’s Office.

The woman left the bank after receiving cash and was taken into custody nearby shortly afterwards, police said.

No guns were seen during the robbery and no one in the bank was injured, according to police.
