JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tacos and margaritas with a view? Yes, please!
Estrella Cocina, a new specialty restaurant, bar and lounge, opens this spring on the roof on the seventh floor of the downtown VyStar Credit Union campus at 100 W. Bay Street.
The restaurant has 3,500 square feet of indoor roof space and an additional 4,500 square feet of outdoor seating.
The new place is owned and operated by local restaurateurs Jonathan Cobbs and Dwayne Beliakoff, founders of The Bread & Board, and partners.
The menu includes dishes from Baja Coast Mexican, Baja Mediterranean and SoCal Mexican cuisine.
“The inspiration for Estrella Cocina really comes from my travels and the time I’ve spent in Baja California and some beautiful coastal towns in western Mexico like Vallarta, Sayulita, Zihuatanejo and Escondido over the past two decades,” said Beliakoff. “My grandmother was Mexican and I was born and lived in Southern California until I was young. So I’m very passionate about the area.”

“We love the downtown synergy and we’re excited to be part of the revitalization of the urban core,” said Cobbs. “This rooftop has great food and is a great place to have a cocktail or even host an event with panoramic views of the river and cityscape.”
