Silver Airways commences service between New Orleans and Jacksonville
Silver Airways, the Florida-based regional airline, recently announced that it would be commencing nonstop service between New Orleans, La. And Jacksonville, Florida will take up.
Silver Airways is now entering its tenth year of operation, operating primarily between Florida and the Caribbean destinations with a fleet consisting entirely of turboprop aircraft. The Silver Airways fleet currently includes the Saab 340, ATR-42-600 and ATR-72-600, with the Saab 340 being retired in favor of the newer ATR aircraft.
The flight is approximately 455 nautical miles and takes approximately two and a half hours each way. The flight operates twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. On both days, the outbound flight from Jacksonville to New Orleans departs at 11:35 a.m. and arrives in New Orleans at 1:05 p.m. The return flight to Jacksonville departs at 1:45 PM and arrives at 5:10 PM
“We’re excited to welcome Silver Airways to New Orleans with non-stop service to Jacksonville,” said Kevin Dolliole, aviation director of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, in a statement. “We continue to work to create more ways to connect New Orleans to the rest of the country and vice versa. This is just the beginning of a great partnership. “
This new service is an addition to Silver’s route map.
