The 37th annual Tomato Festival comes to Jacksonville on June 12th

June 1st – The Tomato Festival is back and Jacksonville’s tastiest fruit, tomato, will star in the upcoming 37th Annual Celebration on Saturday June 12th.

As the star of the Tomato Festival, Jacksonville tomatoes will be ready for multiple contests during the festival. One of the favorites is the Tomato Eating Contest, where celebrities eat as many tomatoes as they can in 3 minutes to beat Cherokee County’s 2019 champion Chris Davis.

Children also have the opportunity to put their skills to the test in the tomato eating, tomato peeling or tomato packaging competition. Local farmers will bring their biggest, nicest and best tasting tomatoes for the Best Home Grown Tomato Contest. Salsa glasses submitted to the salsa contest will be from cute to get you hot!

Those looking for local produce will find what they are looking for at Tomato Fest, as local farmers sell the tastiest tomatoes and other vegetables such as onions, cucumbers, squash, zucchini and other vegetables.

Looking for sporting activities, we have that too!

Football and tennis tournaments take place on June 12th.

Other sporting activities include a 5K running and fishing tournament on Saturday June 5th.

For buyers, there are over 200 sellers and dealers in the city center with great offers and must-have items.

Car lovers don’t have to look any further as we have the biggest car show right in front of the famous Tomato Bowl (soccer stadium).

And don’t forget the food. There will be deep fried green tomatoes, hamburgers, deep fried green tomato sandwiches, deep fried patties, turkey legs, nachos, tornado taters, frito pies, brisket sandwiches, tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, smoothie drinks and much more for those festival food cravings.

Do you want to make some money? Take part in the Got Talent Contest under the flyover for a total of $ 500 in prize money and Youth Got Talent for a total of $ 325 in prize money!

After a full day of fun in downtown Jacksonville, Chili’s will host the annual street dance with the Brian Chance Band and Kimberly Dunn and Red Dirt Ritas that evening from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Saturday June 12th is the big day for the 37th annual Tomato Festival with a variety of activities taking place from June 5th to June 12th including dodgeball tournament, church singing all over town, tomato festival pageant, dice, farm to Table, Par 3 Night Tournament and much more.
