37th Annual Tomato Festival – Saturday June 12th in Jacksonville, TX
Jacksonville, Texas …. Jacksonville’s tastiest fruit. The tomatoes will be the star of the upcoming 37th Annual Tomato Festival on Saturday June 12th. Jacksonville, the star of the Tomato Fest, will be ready for several competitions to be held during the festival. One of the favorites is the Tomato Eating Contest, where celebrities eat as many tomatoes as they can in 3 minutes to beat 2019 Cherokee County Judge Chris Davis. Children also have the opportunity to show their skills during competitions on eating tomatoes, peeling tomatoes, or packing tomatoes. The local farmers bring their largest, most beautiful and best-tasting tomatoes for the Best Home Grown Tomato Contest. Oh the salsa glasses competing in the salsa competition will be cute to light you up HOT! In search of local produce, at Tomato Fest local farmers will sell the best tasting tomatoes and other vegetables, including onions, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, and other vegetables.
When looking for sporting activities, we have that too! Football and tennis tournament on June 12th. Other sporting activities include a 5km running and fishing tournament on Saturday 5th June. For buyers, there will be over 200 vendors and distributors downtown who need high sales and items. Car enthusiasts have come to the right place, because we have the largest car exhibition right in front of the famous Tomato Bowl (football stadium). Oh the food … fried green tomatoes, hamburgers, fried green tomato sandwich, fried cakes, turkey thighs, nachos, tornado taters, frito cakes, brisket sandwiches, tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, smoothie drinks and much more for those who crave festival food.
Looking to Make Some Money? Enter the Got Talent Contest under the flyover for a total of $ 500 in prize money and a total of $ 325 in prize money from Youth Got Talent! After a full day of fun in downtown Jacksonville, Chili’s is hosting the annual street dance with Brian Chance Band, Kimberly Dunn and Red Dirt Ritas that evening from 7pm to 11pm.
June 12th is the big day for the 37th annual Tomato Festival with a variety of activities taking place June 5-12 including dodgeball tournament, city-wide church singing, tomato festival competition, dice, farm to table, par 3 night tournament and lots more.
