The annual Tomato Festival returns to Jacksonville this June

37th Annual Tomato Festival – Saturday June 12th in Jacksonville, TX

Jacksonville, Texas …. Jacksonville’s Tastiest Fruit … the tomatoes will be the star of the upcoming 37th Annual Tomato Festival on Saturday June 12th. The star of the Tomato Festival, Jacksonville Tomatoes, will be ready for several competitions that will take place during the festival. One of the favorites is the Tomato Eating Contest, where celebrities eat as many tomatoes as possible in 3 minutes to beat 2019 Cherokee County Judge Chris Davis. Children also have the opportunity to put their skills to the test in the tomato eating, tomato peeling or tomato packaging competition. Local farmers will bring their biggest, nicest and best tasting tomatoes for the Best Home Grown Tomato Contest. Oh, the salsa glasses entered into the salsa contest will be cute to get you HOT! In search of local produce, Tomato Fest will have local farmers selling the tastiest tomatoes and other vegetables, including onions, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, and other vegetables.

Looking for sporting activities, we have them too! Football and tennis tournament on June 12th. Other sporting activities include a 5km running and fishing tournament on Saturday 5th June. For buyers, there are over 200 sellers and dealers in the city center with great offers and must-have items. Car lovers have come to the right place because we have the biggest car show right in front of the famous Tomato Bowl (soccer stadium). Oh the food … fried green tomatoes, hamburgers, fried green tomato sandwiches, fried pies, turkey legs, nachos, tornado taters, frito pies, brisket sandwiches, tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, smoothie drinks and much more for those festival food cravings.

Looking to make some money? Take part in the Got Talent Contest under the flyover for a total of $ 500 and Youth Got Talent total of $ 325! After a full day of fun in downtown Jacksonville, Chili’s will host the annual street dance with the Brian Chance Band and Kimberly Dunn and Red Dirt Ritas that evening from 7pm to 11pm.

Saturday June 12th is the big day for the 37th annual Tomato Festival with a variety of activities taking place June 5th to 12th including dodgeball tournament, city hymn, Tomato Festival pageant, dice, farm to table , Par 3 Night Tournament and much more.
