JSO said Justin Davis was cooperating with investigators, but investigators found that what he said was inconsistent with the evidence.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – A man faces murder charges in April 2020 after months of investigations into the murder of a 33-year-old woman.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, police and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded on April 4, 2020 on the 8000 block of Old Kings Road because of an unresponsive woman.

The 33-year-old woman was originally believed to have overdosed on drugs. She was taken to the hospital where she later died. The doctor’s office later decided that her death was a murder.

Justin Kyle Davis, now 35, was on the scene when first responders arrived and was reported to be part of the investigation. JSO said during an investigation by the Homicide Unit that investigators found the evidence inconsistent with what Davis said.

According to JSO, a lengthy investigation revealed that Davis was responsible for the death of the woman, although JSO did not specify his role in the death of the victim.

Davis was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He is detached from Duval County Jail.
